Convocation day is long. There’s the early start, the queue for the hall, the ceremony itself, and then hours of photos outside in the heat. Balloons are part of almost every one of those photos, so they need to look just as good at 4pm as they did at 9am.
We’ve been making graduation balloons for convocations across the Klang Valley since 2017. Here’s what we’ve learned about choosing balloons that last the day, and about getting them to the right person at the right time.
1. Choose balloons that last the whole day, not just the morning
When choosing graduation balloons, how long they float matters more than for almost any other occasion. Your balloons will spend hours outdoors, get carried around a campus, and often sit in a car in between.
That’s why we always point graduation customers to the balloon types with the longest float times. These are our estimated minimums, from our float-time guide:
- Foil balloons (including our printed “Congrats Grad” designs): 3+ days
- 20″ Deco Bubble balloons: 3+ days
- 12″ latex balloons in solid colours: around 24 hours
- 12″ latex balloons with personalised text: around 8–12 hours, depending on the length of the text
For a convocation, we recommend building around a foil or bubble balloon and treating 12″ latex as the colourful filler around it. If you’d like the graduate’s name on a 12″ latex balloon, time the delivery as close to the ceremony as possible.
One tip that saves a lot of balloons: don’t leave them in a parked car in the sun. The heat makes helium expand, and balloons can burst or shrink quickly afterwards. Keep them in an air-conditioned room until you leave, and take them with you.

2. Put the graduate’s name on it
A balloon with “Congratulations, Aisyah!” or “Dr. Wong” in the photos means a lot more than a generic one.
That’s why our bubble bouquets come with a personalised bubble balloon: you choose the text, the font and the colour, and we make it in-house in Taman Desa. Personalised balloons are still delivered within 3 hours if you order before 4pm.
Popular choices for graduations:
- Ultimate Gold & Orange Bubble Balloon Bouquet (RM189). A 20″ personalised Deco Bubble with chrome gold and orange latex balloons. It’s bright, photographs well against black gowns, and the bubble floats for 3+ days.
- Aquamarine and Rose Pink Bubble Balloon Bouquets (RM159 each). A personalised bubble with six matching balloons and a star, heart or circle foil on top.
- Congrats Grad Stars & Dots Deco Bubble (RM89). A printed design that works on its own, or added to any bouquet.

3. Match the gift to the graduate
Not every graduate wants a giant balloon bouquet to carry around a campus all day.
That’s why the Graduation collection covers a range of sizes and budgets:
- A single printed foil like Congrats Grad Stars or Diffused Ombre Congrats Grad (RM29 each, helium included). These are easy to hold through a long day and last 3+ days.
- Flowers instead of, or alongside, balloons. The Mila Graduation Bloom Box (RM119) is made fresh for each order. For both in one gift, see Balloons & Flowers.
- For the celebration at home afterwards, add a gold Congrats cake topper (RM12) to the cake.

4. Plan how the balloons reach the ceremony
This is where most graduation orders go wrong. When choosing between delivery and pickup, think about where the graduate will actually be, and who can receive the order.
That’s why we’re honest about how campus delivery works:
- Our drivers can’t walk into a convocation hall or find someone in a crowd. They phone the recipient and hand the order over at an agreed spot, such as a gate, a car park or a lobby.
- Someone has to answer the phone. The graduate will usually be in the ceremony with their phone switched off, so put a family member’s number as the recipient.
- If nobody can be reached within 15 minutes, the driver returns the order to our shop. Re-delivery costs an extra RM12 plus the delivery fee again.
For most families, these options work better than delivering to the campus:
- Delivery to your home or hotel in the morning. Choose our early 9–11am slot (RM25). Order by 8pm the day before; there are only a few early slots each day, so book ahead.
- Self-pickup in Taman Desa on the way to the ceremony. Pickup starts from 10am, with an early 9:00 or 9:30 pickup for RM25 (not on Tuesdays).
- Delivery to a celebration lunch or dinner afterwards, in our 1–4pm or 4–7pm slot. The balloons are fresh for the photos at the table.
5. Book early. Or order today by 4pm
Convocation season in the Klang Valley runs from October to December, and the morning slots go first.
That’s why you can book up to 60 days ahead and pick your date and time slot at checkout. If you’ve left it late, you can still order by 4pm for same-day delivery: we deliver all balloons, including personalised ones, within 3 hours.
Delivery costs RM29 up to 19 km from our shop, which covers all of KL, Petaling Jaya and Subang. Further out, it’s RM2 per km for the whole distance, up to 50 km.
