Baby’s breath (gypsophila, or “baby breath” as most people search for it) has become one of the most popular flower gifts in Malaysia. A cloud of tiny white blooms looks soft and romantic, photographs beautifully, and suits almost any occasion, from a birthday or a graduation to a simple “thinking of you”.
It’s also one of the most delicate flowers we work with. Here’s what we’ve learned about choosing the right size, the right colour, and keeping it fresh once it arrives.
1. Choose the size for the occasion
When choosing a baby’s breath gift, size matters most: a small box on a colleague’s desk sends a very different message from a 60 cm bloom box at a birthday dinner.
That’s why our baby’s breath range covers three sizes:
- Mini boxes (RM49). The Mini Aria Bloom Box is a palm-sized box (6.5 × 7.5 cm) packed with rainbow baby’s breath, and our best-selling baby’s breath gift. The Mini Belle Rose Bloom Box adds 2–3 red roses and eucalyptus. Ideal for a thank-you, a desk surprise or a small add-on to a bigger gift.
- Hand-tied bouquets (RM109–RM149). Our Poppy bouquets are medium-sized and made entirely of baby’s breath, in white, blue or lilac (RM149 each). The Hannah Fresh Flower Bouquet (RM109) mixes white baby’s breath with three light pink carnations.

2. White, coloured or rainbow?
Baby’s breath grows white. The blue, lilac and rainbow versions are dyed onto natural white baby’s breath, so the flowers themselves are still real and fresh.
That’s why we suggest choosing by the recipient rather than the occasion:
- White is classic and elegant, and suits anyone. It’s the safe choice when you don’t know their favourite colour.
- Blue or lilac feels calm and modern, and stands out from the usual pink.
- Rainbow is playful and cheerful: perfect for birthdays, teenagers and anyone who loves colour.
3. Freshness matters more than anything
When choosing where to buy baby’s breath, freshness is the one thing that makes or breaks it. The tiny blooms bruise and dry out quickly, and a bouquet that has waited in a fridge since morning looks tired by the time it’s handed over.
That’s why we arrange every baby’s breath bouquet and box fresh for each order, not in the morning for the whole day. Our baby’s breath is imported from Ecuador or China, so the size of the little blooms can vary slightly from week to week, depending on the shipment. We’d rather tell you that than promise every bouquet looks exactly like the photo.
4. How long it lasts, and how to keep it fresh
Fresh baby’s breath lasts around a week, depending on the bloom of the day. To get the most out of it:
- Spritz a little water onto the flowers every day. Our bouquets come wrapped and ready to display, so you don’t need a vase.
- Bloom boxes are arranged in floral foam that keeps the flowers hydrated; a light spritz is all they need.
- Keep it out of direct sunlight and away from heat. Don’t leave it in a parked car: the heat dries the tiny blooms out very quickly.
